With our mini Leffler MUN approaching, we decided to bring this post to those of you who are curious to understand what a United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) is.

The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), established in 1945 by the United Nations Charter, is the main deliberative body of the UN. Its first session took place in London in 1945, with the participation of 51 countries. Today, through the UNGA, all 193 member countries of the organization come together to discuss issues of global significance.

A UNGA can be convened to address issues involving wars, human rights, peaceful conflict resolution, budgets, sustainable development, disarmament, and the election of Secretaries-General for the UN, for example.

In a UN simulation, students position themselves as diplomats, representing countries and councils. To do this, they need to conduct research, studies, and familiarize themselves with the cultures and countries involved in the issues to be discussed, as well as hone their skills in argumentation and public speaking!

That’s why we provide the opportunity for all our students to participate in UN simulations, offering training and support for them to excel in events ranging from Leffler MUN in Salvador to Harvard MUN in the USA!

Here, we have the complete preparation that only a Global Olympic School can offer! The education of the future is a reality in Salvador.
